RE: VISITING SRI LANKA. We are seasoned travelers lucky enough to have seen the world. One of the last frontiers on our list was SRI LANKA but we had to wait until the political situation straightened out. Thus, SRILANKA is in the early stages of developing their tourism infrastructure. To properly see this beautiful, sometimes puzzling Country, you need someone knowledgeable, trustworthy and above all a good driver!!. Besides Colombo, which we saw on our own, we wanted to see the countryside in as much detail as possible. We hired an independent operator, that has been in business for more than 30 years, a safe driver and also a good value!. J. D. NANDASENA TOURS. We spent ten day in the capable hands of NANDASENA (NANDE), seeing the country with its religious heritage and beautiful countryside. On route we changed our minds a few times, he was very happy to accommodate us. Be aware that his packages do not include entrance fees and a few other extras, which in fact is a plus if enroute you find do not want to see the attraction, you don’t pay for it. This makes the basic price for car and driver reasonable. Nande is a man you can trust to not steer you into buying things you don’t really want or need. Thanks NANDE. When started our 10 day tour with a driver in Sri Lanka we had no idea that we would end our tour with a new friend. Nande expertly guided us through Sri Lanka and took every opportunity to share his country with us. It can be hard to hire someone over the internet - you never know what kind of person you are hiring. Nande is truly one of a kind. Nande is always the one smiling - though stressful chaotic roads, torrential rain fall (during the rainy season) and curious travellers. Although he has probably answered every one of our questions at least 50 times in the past, he was always patient and kind. He always remembers what interests you. For example, one day we had asked about a red banana - the next day he actually picked on up so we could try it. The long car journeys led to some enlightened conversations - and we both learned about each other. Nande shared a lot about his family and the Sri Lanken culture with us. By the end of the 10 days we felt like we were a part of his family. If you are looking for someone who will go along at your pace - whether fast or slow; who will make sure you have everything you need and someone who is trustworty and reliable, Nande is your best option. And, if he is already booked he will recommend someone.

We spent 2 weeks in Sri Lanka, therefrom 12 days travelling around with Nande. Nande is a good driver. He drove very safely. Not easy with the sometimes chaotic traffic on Sri Lankas roads. Nande has good knowledge on all the historical monuments too and he did very interesting explanations. We had very relaxing vacations. Nande managed the reservations for the hotels as well. We were fully satisfied with this. The hotels were nice and clean, and according to our desired standard. If you need a trustable driver and manager for your next Sri Lanka trip, i can highly recommend Nande to you.

We spent 9 days in Sri Lanka and hired Nande as our guide after hearing several positive recommendations. All of them were true. As a guide, Nande has an excellent approach because he is as involved in your trip as you would like him to be. He adapts to spontaneous requests and always stays patient despite challenges on the road or otherwise. We especially enjoyed the cultural triangle and cities of the ancient kingdoms of which Nande is very knowledgeable. He brings the ruins back to life and helps your take everything at your pace. Hired Nande as my guide because I was looking to do as much as possible in 2 weeks, and his itinerary had a lot packed into it, for a very good price. He speaks very good English and that was also a major factor in my decision to hire Nande. He collected us from the airport and has been with us everywhere since then. At every opportunity he has shown us extra sights that we would not have known about had we not hired him. He even managed to organise a game of cricket for me and my friend with a group of locals from the guest house!! One of myany highlights from the 2 weeks. Hi all, We have been traveling in Sri Lanka for 8 days, 2 adults and 2 children aged 04 & 10. We have had pleasure of Nande for the duration of our sightseeing adventure. Nande has been knowledgeable and a fantastic source of information about his beautiful Island. His stories about the history and the legends of Sri lanka have entertained the whole family, breathed life into the Temples and especially the ruins of Sigiriya Rock. We have been traveling as a family for 4 months and had several drivers. Nande has proved himself reliable and thoughtful especially in regard to the children nothing has been too much trouble, and his advice even in simple shopping expeditions has been invaluable. Our jurney ends with a week in Tangalle and it has been a sad farewell but a pleasure to have had Nande be a part of our family for this short time. Highly recommended.

Arrived at 3.30a.m and were met by a smiling face of Nande to welcome us to Sri Lanka. He was to be our driver, guide and friend for the next 7 days. He proved to be not only knowledgeable, informative but also an excellent driver at all times. His calm nature was demonstrated when we were tied up by the inefficiency of one hotel who had given our room away which meant him having to find alternative accommodation at short notice. His patience was somewhat tested by frequent questions while he must have had asked many times during his 28 years of guiding [& my husband’s quick sense of humour – trying at times!!]. Our total enjoyment of Sri Lanka and all it has to offer has been competed in no small ways to Nande’s total professionalism and his care which has meant we have always felt safe. [given the least trying road conditions and the unpredictability of many other drivers] he has always ensured we have been treated fairly by anyone with who we were doing business. Nande is a gentlemen and a very fine ambassador for his homeland. It has been a privilege to have known him.
